These Terms of Service govern the use of HackSpace, a platform for creating, hosting and managing hackathons and innovation programs.
By accessing or using the platform you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the platform.
HackSpace is a product operated by Seagull Innovation Studio.
HackSpace provides organizations, communities and event organizers with tools for registration, participant and team management, mentoring, submissions, judging, communications and related activities.
Each hackathon is created and operated by its own organizer. The organizer is responsible for the event itself, including its schedule, rules, challenges, content and the decisions taken during it.
A hackathon may publish its own regulations or terms. Where such regulations exist, they apply to that event in addition to these Terms. In case of a conflict regarding the event itself, the event regulations prevail.
Some parts of the platform require a user account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity carried out through your account. Please notify us if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
You must be legally able to enter into these Terms. Where a hackathon includes participants under the age of 18, the organizer is responsible for obtaining the consent of a parent or guardian where required.
Registration for a hackathon is subject to approval by the organizer of that event. Registration does not create a right to participate.
Organizers may approve, reject, assign roles to, or remove participants, and may define additional conditions for their event.
Participants are responsible for the information they provide during registration and throughout the event.
You agree to use HackSpace in a lawful and respectful manner.
You may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to the platform or to other users’ accounts, interfere with its operation, upload malicious code, scrape or harvest data, impersonate another person, or use the platform to harass others or to publish unlawful, hateful or infringing content.
You may not resell, copy or misrepresent the platform or the services provided through it.
You retain ownership of the content you create or upload to the platform.
By uploading content you grant HackSpace a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, store, display, process and transmit that content solely in order to operate the platform and the relevant event, and to make it available to the people authorized to see it within that event.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the rights required to upload your content and that it does not infringe the rights of others.
The platform itself, including its software, design, trademarks and documentation, belongs to Seagull Innovation Studio and is protected by applicable law.
HackSpace may include links to, or integrations with, third-party services.
Such services operate under their own terms and privacy practices, and we are not responsible for their content or conduct. We encourage you to review their terms before using them.
The platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We work to keep it running reliably, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free or secure operation at all times.
Features may be added, changed or removed as the platform develops.
We are not responsible for the content, decisions or conduct of event organizers, participants, mentors or judges.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Seagull Innovation Studio will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profit or opportunity, arising from the use of, or the inability to use, the platform.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, and nothing limits mandatory rights you may have as a consumer.
We may suspend or terminate access to the platform where these Terms are breached, where required by law, or where necessary to protect the platform, our users or others.
You may stop using the platform at any time, and may request the deletion of your account.
We may update these Terms as the platform develops or as legal requirements change.
When we make material changes we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice through the platform.
Continued use of the platform after an update means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at the place of business of Seagull Innovation Studio, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights available to you.
For questions about these Terms, please contact us through the contact information available on the HackSpace website.
